Background

--Erol Ozer was born in Istanbul / Üsküdar as the third child of a mother from Sivas-Suşehri and an expatriate father in Germany-Stuttgart. He attended Moda Primary School, Kemal Atatürk Secondary School and Haydarpaşa Vocational School (Department of Mechanical Drawing).
-After graduating from the Faculty of Political Sciences (Department of Finance) at Ankara University, he started to work as a District Governor Candidate at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (specifically in Çankırı province).
-During his three-year District Governor Candidacy period, he studied in England for 8 months during which he wrote a thesis on consumer rights, after his service as Çorum-Oguzlar and Bolu-Cumaova Deputy District Governor, and Bursa-Inegol District Governor's companion.
-He completed his master's degree at Faculty of Economic Sciences, Department of Finance at Thrace University in Edirne where he prepared a thesis on Municipal Economic Enterprises.
-Places in which he served as a district governor are, Samsun-Asarcık, Kahramanmaraş-Nurhak, Edirne-Havsa, then he continued his career as Bingöl Deputy Governor and Diyarbakır Deputy Governor.
While serving as the Deputy Governor of Diyarbakır, he attended some written and oral exams and started to work as a Chief Civil Inspector at the Inspection Board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He held this position until 2016. In this period of time, he was allowed to conduct a research for a period of 6 months at Virginia Commonwealth University, VA-USA where he prepared a thesis on "US Private Security Organization".
-In terms of sports, Özer, who was a Karate National Team Athlete, gained a 3rd place in a European Karate Tournament. He served as a member of the Karate Federation’s Board of Directors for 4 years starting from 2007. He was also elected President of the Turkish Luge Federation in 2009; he occupied this post until 2014 beside his primary job as the Chief Civil Inspector.
